Program Director - Camp & Teens

Job Description

This position is responsible for developing, delivering and administering a designated program at an assigned branch. Responsible for recruiting, hiring, supervising and developing assigned team. Oversee the engagement and recruitment of program volunteers for the program.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 3 years’ work experience in a Camp setting
  • YMCA experience preferred
  • One year supervisory experience required for a team of two or larger
  • Two years’ experience with program development and program operations
  • Experience in implementing administrative and safety standards
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and general office equipment 
  • CPR/AED and First Aid, must include both Adult and Infant/Child, certified upon hire and must be from one of the following:
    • American Red Cross
    • American Heart Association
    • American Safety & Health Institute
Essential Functions
  • Responsible for the development, implementation, and day-to-day management of assigned Camp departments/programs; ensuring growth, volume, safety and innovation
  • Oversees marketing, registration, communication and operation of on-site and off-site facilities 
  • Implements regular site visits for observation and evaluation
  • Responsible for the development and control of department budget
  • Ensures that all assigned budget departments meet year-end outcomes
  • Monitor operations and ensure all licensing requirements are met
  • Ensure all YMCA policies & procedures, state licensing, ACA requirements, and health department requirements are adhered to at all times
  • Recruits, trains, supervises and appraises required staff and assists all staff in meeting their developmental needs.
  • Responsible for fostering an environment where staff motivation, recognition, and teamwork thrives
  • Conducts bi-annual performance evaluations of staff
  • Serve as staff liaison in the Teams Division of the Annual Current Support Campaign and assists in the recruitment of campaigners to ensure Teams Division is filled and trained.
  • Represents the Branch as needed in the community through various groups, organizations, coalitions, etc.
