Job Description
The Wellness Coach is responsible for building positive relationships among members, participants, volunteers and staff by actively greeting members and participants and providing excellent customer service, guidance and leadership. Assist members and participants with workout equipment and provide basic information to participants regarding the workout equipment to enhance the physical, mental and spiritual health of each student. Qualifications
Sound good? (We think so, too!) Here’s what you would do:
- Keep workout areas safe, clean and organized
- Be aware of and enforce Fitness Center policies
- Design and deliver training or equipment orientation to members with their goals in mind
- Represent the Y, share your knowledge, and promote our Fitness Center
- Physical ability to lift at least 20 pounds
Essential Functions
“OK, I’m sold!” What do I need to qualify?
- Must be 18 or older
- Fitness background preferred, but not required
- Experience with a variety of strength equipment and free weights preferred
- Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency
- CPR/AED, and First Aid Certification, must include Adult and Child/Infant, obtained within 30 days of hire and must be from one of the following certifying organizations:
- American Red Cross
- American Heart Association
- American Safety & Health Institute
