The Bernon Family Branch of the Hockomock Area YMCA in Franklin, MA is hiring an Associate Branch Executive Director.
Job Description

Under the direction of the Branch Executive Director, the Associate Executive Director conducts and administers facility functions of the branch and fulfills the role of the Branch Executive Director in the Executive’s absence. This position is primarily responsible for supervising the daily operations and organizational leadership for the Branch for the successful achievement of association and branch strategic goals. 

The Associate Branch Executive Director oversees assigned areas of the branch, with a strong focus on programming and staff mentoring, providing supervision and leadership to branch operations. This position participates in volunteer and staff development, financial development, community relations and collaborations with community agencies.

This position requires a proven track record in staff development, budget accountability, program development, community involvement, member-centered customer service, fundraising and retention, as well as being a people-oriented individual with a focus on constantly improving the member experience and building connections within and outside of the branch. The Associate Branch Executive Director must possess the ability to multi-task in an extremely fast-paced, ever-changing, demanding environment. 

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required in education, health sciences, community development, sports management, or business
  • A minimum of 7-10 years of YMCA management experience
  • Preferred experience managing multiple departments, with a track record of successful management of youth development programs, providing supervision and leadership to summer camp, aquatics, sports, youth enrichment and teen programs
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of YMCA of fundraising and volunteer development experience with specific experience in securing financial support
  • Skills and ability in program development and delivery, financial management, facility management, and coaching and leading staff, members and volunteers
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Strong customer service skills and personal commitment to service and hospitality
Essential Functions
  • Partners with the Branch Executive to lead the branch’s strategic activities to meet the goals of the Association
  • Leads member involvement and relationship-building strategies to increase program participation, enrollment, and volunteerism
  • Provides and grows high quality, innovative programming that meets the needs of our members and the community
  • Solicits gifts and directs the staff team during the annual Reach Out for Youth and Families campaign
  • Directs staff liaison for the branch Board of Managers
  • Assists Program Directors and Coordinators in developing and controlling branch budgets and is responsible for attaining budget goals
  • Provides training programs for new and current staff and is responsible for all departmental staff development
  • Interprets and communicates the objectives and programs of the branch to the community
  • Coordinates strategies for member engagement and overall retention in tandem with the Membership, Program and Wellness Departments
  • Acts as the Branch Executive Director in the Executive’s absence, especially with regard to approval of expenses, emergency decisions, and issues that require immediate attention
