Job Description

The Hampshire Regional YMCA is a standalone Y in Northampton MA, which is a progressive and passionate community located in a college town. We are seeking a Membership Director with exceptional organizational and time management skills to lead the department. This role supervises our part-time Welcome Center staff as well as two full-time direct reports. Our ideal candidate has a sales & customer service background, as well as supervisory experience. The membership director is truly a team leader, because at our Y we believe Membership is everyone's job!

  • Significant customer service and/or sales experience required
  • Supervisory experience required
  • Significant experience with computers required; sales and membership or appointment software experience preferred
  • Excellent time management and human relations skills needed
Essential Functions
  • Coordinate and oversee all aspects of the Welcome Center and Membership department
  • Hire, recruit, train, schedule develop, evaluate and direct all Welcome Center staff
  • Ensure excellent service and engagement is upheld for all members of the Y
  • Lead all aspects of membership sales including acquisition, retention, satisfaction, and all administrative duties
  • Staff the Welcome Center as needed, sometimes including early mornings, evenings or weekends
