The Tampa Y is looking for the next leader for our premier gymnastics program and 12,000+ square foot, fully equipped, state-of-the-art gym here in sunny Tampa, Florida!  Featuring the Top Flight Gymnastics competitive team with gymnasts up to Level 8 and Excel Diamond, the program is thriving and growing.  With 300+ kids and families connected in our programs, this is a tremendous opportunity for a forward-thinking leader to provide direction, lead the operations, and coach an amazing set of gymnasts!   This is a great opportunity to take our gymnastics operation to an even higher level!

The Bob Sierra Family YMCA is a hub of the local community with over 10,000 members and two separate facilities about ¾ mile apart.  With a total of over 60,000 square feet, we have a full fitness center, 3 group exercise studios, racquetball courts, two gymnasiums, two swimming pools, slides, splash pad, sports fields, afterschool and summer camp programming and more… in addition to the gymnastics center!

The Tampa area offers a wonderful quality of life, sunny warm weather, abundant recreational resources including some of the best beaches in the country, theme parks, three professional sports teams, state parks, and no individual state income tax!

Qualifications
  • USAG Member or equivalent required (or willingness to achieve within first 6 months).
  • Floor routine choreography experience preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in youth gymnastics instruction/coaching, spotting, equipment and technique. Extensive gymnastics or dance background, leadership experience, and a passion for teaching. 2+ years of experience in YMCA programs, philosophies and objectives preferred. 
  • A minimum of 3 years coaching competitive team coaches.
  • Experience in managing budgets and program revenue.
  • Strong communicator with the ability to communicate to participants in a timely manner, ensuring that participants are well-informed of important program information.
  • Prior high-level (levels 6-10) gymnast or coaching experience preferred.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills, communication, organization and the ability to work within specific time constraints.

Required Certifications
  • USAG Safety Certification, YMCA Gymnastics Instructor Certification and USAG Meet Director Certifications preferred.
  • Must obtain within 30 days of employment and then maintain current certifications in CPR, First Aid, AED and Oxygen Administration.

Maintain other required certifications as stated in the training matrix.
