Live, learn, and teach in the Heart of the Catskill Mountains of New York while working at Frost Valley YMCA! Each year we serve over 20,000 people, primarily from the greater NYC, Long Island, and northern New Jersey region, through our Environmental Education and Groups and Family Retreats Departments. We provide exciting outdoor learning opportunities to very diverse audiences, many of whom might not otherwise have the opportunity to access these experiences.
As a member of our Outdoor Instructor team, you will facilitate innovative outdoor experiences that help students, teachers and families deepen relationships and rediscover a love of learning. Outdoor Instructors are responsible for the preparation and delivery of programs offered through the Environmental Education, Teambuilding, and Group and Family Retreats programs which include but are not limited to guided hikes, ecology lessons, teambuilding, adventure education, and facilitating high and low ropes elements. Each outdoor instructor must be able to effectively communicate and interact with students and guests of all ages in all types of weather. Persons of color and bi-lingual candidates are encouraged to apply and we invite people of all backgrounds to realize our collective heritage in the natural world.
Frost Valley YMCA seeks to promote an awareness of the interrelatedness of the natural world through the usage of the natural sciences. We promote deeper connections for our students and guests with the outdoors, with each other, and with themselves.
