Job Description

The Youth Development Specialist provides trauma-informed, culturally relevant, in-person youth development services to sixty-five (65) youth per year per school, designed to promote protective factors and strengthen resilience. Provides general client services and case management in a Montgomery County Public School.

Qualifications
  • High School diploma required.
  • Experience working with youth and parents from diverse populations.
  • Experience working with the school system (preferred).
  • Bilingual, Spanish/English
Essential Functions
  • Provide youth development activities which may include sports, arts, outdoor recreation, gardening, community service projects, mentoring, and other activities that give purpose and encourage self-care, healing, and provide mutual peer support.
  • Attend county-indicated trainings for youth development practitioners.
