Facility Services Director

Seeking an innovative Facility Services Director to become a part of a dynamic team making an impact and helping to better the community.
Job Description

Responsible for facility and camp operations, general maintenance, grounds care, housekeeping, security and environmental issues. This includes the planning, organization, staffing and control of resources associated with these programs. Will also supervise maintenance and housekeeping staff, vendors, contractors, and other partnerships who are directly responsible for the day-to-day facility operations.

Qualifications

  1. Three years of experience with plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, and/or other specialty skill areas required
  2. Vocational/Technical certifications or post-secondary degree preferred  
  3. Two years of supervisory experience and skills preferred
  4. Certified Pool Operator certification within 90 days of hire
  5. General knowledge of heating/cooling systems, filtration systems, electrical systems, plumbing systems, exercise equipment, telephone systems, and pools
  6. Well-developed skills in verbal and written communication, organization and prioritizing, problem solving, and building relationships

 

 

Essential Functions
  • Maintain proper functioning building, pool, and camp equipment. This includes all heating/cooling systems, filtration systems, electrical systems, plumbing systems, exercise equipment, telephone systems, pools, and other related building/camp systems. Also, ensure that snow removal, grass cutting, and general exterior maintenance are completed timely and at highest standards of appearance and safety. 
  • Maintain a safe facility and camp for members and staff; Comply with all safety methods, utilizing procedures for chemical and workplace safety; Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and licensing regulations including OSHA, Health Department, Pool Operations, Building Codes, etc. 
  • Recruit, hire, train, develop, schedule and direct assigned staff. Review and evaluate performance. Develop strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals. Model relationship-building skills in all interactions.
  • Supervise all contractors and sub-contractors, securing bids/estimates/quotes on projects, and ensuring all work is completed to YMCA specifications and timeframes.
  • Develop, implement, and accurately maintain a department budget making expense/staffing modifications as needed.
  • Assume a key leadership role and serve as a contributing management team member in the overall YMCA organization to develop and maintain operation of a quality, charitable, non-profit organization. 
  • Maintain accurate and consistent data tracking and recordkeeping as required.
