Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION
The YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth is looking for a new leader to join the team and support the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Northpark YMCA is seeking a relationship builder to provide leadership to the development and successful operations of the following program areas: membership, health & wellness, aquatics, playhouse, youth-zone and other programs. The Operations Director will be responsible for leading the overall operations at the Northpark YMCA. This leader will drive the member experience by leading staff in programs yielding membership growth and retention. Leading, training, coaching and development of staff and member relations will be critical as we seek to focus on the needs of the North Fort Worth community.

Under the direction of the Senior District Executive, the Operations Director will run operations for a branch 1200+ membership units, serving more than 4,100 members and more than 3,000 program participants. The Operations Director will lead the day-to-day operations, special events, the community campaign portion of the annual campaign and serve as a liaison to the branch board of directors. A successful Operations Director will have a passion for YMCA operations and a heart for community impact work. It is a requirement that the candidate live in the community that the Northpark YMCA serves.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent years of comparable experience.
  • Four or more years of program management and supervisory experience preferred.
EXPERIENCE & BACKGROUND
  • High energy, positive, "can-do" attitude, flexibility, teamwork, attention to detail and a high degree of initiative will help this candidate be successful.
  • The ability to direct programs through leading both staff and volunteers, developing and monitoring of budgets, developing and marketing of programs and bringing enthusiasm and a passion for fundraising.
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.
  • This leader will need the ability to connect and relate with diverse groups of people at all levels of the organization.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish would be a plus.
Essential Functions

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Develops, implements, and manages operating plans to promote program and/or membership growth for the Northpark YMCA. Executes strategies to ensure that members and/or program participants connect with one another and connect with the YMCA.
  • Develops and controls department budgets related to the position.
  • Hires, trains, and supervises staff and volunteers in assigned areas. Facilitates communication and provides leadership. Models relationship-building skills in all interactions.
  • Provides leadership and support to the annual fundraising campaign and volunteer committees/board as assigned. Develops and maintains effective working relationships within the community.
  • Ensures high quality member-focused programs through innovative program development, evaluations and ongoing training of staff.
  • Provide day-to--day leadership throughout the branch ensuring all member, volunteer and staff needs are being met and that the YMCA assets are protected and in good working order at all times.
  • Works with department directors to develop annual performance goals and objectives in line with approved department budgets.
  • Provide staff with the tools and direction they need to assist in reaching the branch's goals in new member acquisition, member retention, and program development.
  • Assures compliance with state and local regulations. Ensures that program standards are met and safety procedures are followed.
  • Provides data and reports as required for assigned programs.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Woth offers a competitive salary and benefits package for selected candidates.

The yearly salary range for this position is $53,000 - $57,000 and will be commensurate with the selected candidates experience.
