Teen Program Director

Seeking someone for youth programming with a focus on teens ages 13-16 years old. 
Job Description
  • Manages, directs and coordinates teen programs. Ensures high-quality programs and establishes new program activities and curriculum. Expands program within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent preferred.

2. One to two years field-related experience preferred.

3. Required trainings within 30 days of hire include completion of: Child Abuse Prevention; CPR;  FirstAid; AED; Bloodborne Pathogens

4.  Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.

Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential position functions and safely supervise children’s activities.

Essential Functions
  • Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs personnel (part-time and seasonal) and volunteers as needed. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
  • Develops, manages and controls budgets related to the position. Ensures program operates within budget plans and grant-funded program requirements.
  • Assures compliance with state and local regulations as they relate to program areas and grant requirements. Ensures that YMCA program standards are met and safety procedures followed.
  • Coordinates all monthly safety drills, gathers needed documentation and holds staff accountable for completion.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with IDHS, school administration, parent groups and other organizations and agencies related to assigned programs. Responds to all agency, parent and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
  • Provides coverage for sites and/or programs on an as needed basis, adjusting scheduled as needed for program coverage.
  • Leads registration process and maintains proper records/department files.
  • Assists in YMCA fundraising activities.
  • Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information.
  • Compiles program attendance and statistics, monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation in program and performs regular audits of program sites to ensure quality program delivery and complies with grant-funded requirements.
