Job Description

Under the supervision of the­­­­­­­­­­­ Associate Director of Membership, the Super Skippers Director and Head Coachis responsible for the administration and program management of the Y Super Skippers Jump Rope competitive and recreational programs. They are responsible for managing the functions of the program in accordance with the stated mission, goals, and policies established by the administrative staff, governing committees, and Board of Directors of the YMCA.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree is required with at 3-5 years coaching experience.
  • Models a commitment to the YMCA Mission, Cause, values and leadership competency model. 
  • Strong ability to be an engaging presence leading staff and programs.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Outstanding communication skills, the ability to determine and set priorities, manage his/her staff members work schedule, as well as the capacity to handle multiple tasks appropriately in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
  • Proven skills in human relations, public speaking, program management, and volunteer development. 
  • Maintain necessary certifications including CPR, First Aid, and Coaches Safety Training.
  • Multi-lingual desired but not required.
Essential Functions
  • Provides vision, leadership, and management of the day-to-day operations of the successful, values-oriented YMCA of the Triangle Super Skippers Jump Rope team, including all team levels and clinics/workshops, as well as summer jump rope day camp.
  • Recruits and hires diverse staff and volunteer teams across multiple dimensions of diversity. Responsible for onboarding, coaching and developing them for success.
  • Provides vision, leadership, and management to the part-time staff, including coaching and leadership traits, to ensure a high-quality jump rope program.
  • Models relationship-building skills in all interactions. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations. Maintains regular, clear, and concise communication within area of responsibility.
  • Abides by the YMCA of the Triangle and Safe Sport policy and procedures. Serves as an ambassador to the community by actively promoting the YMCA jump rope and wellness programs.
  • Maintains open communication with participants, parents, staff, volunteers and branch leadership.
  • Establishes and maintains positive relationship with recognized national and international jump rope governing bodies.
  • Works with Associate Director to establish annual program goals and works toward accomplishing these goals, to include strategies of program growth.
  • Manages all aspects of Super Skipper’s financial and business functions ensuring budgeted goals are met while following all Association business guidelines. Drafts monthly financial reports.
  • Supports the Associate Branch Director by monitoring the budget and adhering to the budget philosophy of the YMCA of the Triangle.
  • Plans, prepares and conducts team practices in accordance with program objectives, guidelines and policies including attendance records, skill reviews and training plans.
  • Prepares and submits all necessary information for competitions and attends tournaments as assigned.
  • Develops, implements, and manages strategies to provide opportunities for family involvement. These opportunities include volunteering at tournaments, judging, individual meetings, parent council, Annual Campaign support and special event participation.
  • Participates in the Annual campaign by developing strategies for giving, recruiting volunteers, and articulating case at program events.
  • Other duties and responsibilities assigned by supervisor.
