Job Description
The Jackson R. Lehman Family YMCA is seeking a full-time Childcare Site Director to join our team at the Ivy Tech location. Childcare Site Directors provide diverse participants with educational and age-appropriate activities to promote a safe, fun, nurturing learning environment and memorable experiences with the YMCA.
Qualifications
· Must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
· One year of college or life experience is preferred.
· Experience in childcare settings.
· Managerial/leadership background is preferred.
· Experience in supervision preferred.
· Excellent problem-solving, verbal, and written communication skills.
· Ability to relate to, welcome, and communicate with diverse groups of people regardless of age, race, economic status, religion, or cultural differences.
Essential Functions
Create: Build positive open relationships, and maintain consistent, effective communication with management, staff, students, and parents.
Nurture: Actively engage with and provide quality care for program participants to deliver a quality YMCA experience.
Lead: Implement program rules, policies, and emergency plans.
Serve: Communicate effectively with parents through daily dialogue and established site communication system.
