This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Operations Director at the Williams County YMCA serves in a senior-level management position and ensures successful operation of the YMCA.
· Bachelor degree in exercise science, human services, recreation, social services, business or equivalent preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Three or more year’s management experience, preferably in YMCA or other not-for-profit agency.
· Ability to direct assigned operations including volunteer development, supervision of staff, development and monitoring budgets, and program development/management.
· Knowledge of, and prior experience in leading health, wellbeing & fitness operations preferred
· CPR, First Aid & other applicable certifications required upon/after hire.
· Direct and administer the operation of the Y as it pertains to youth programing, childcare, aquatics, membership and wellness.
· Recruit and hire diverse staff and volunteer teams. Onboard, develop, and coach staff for development and maximum impact. Maintain regular, clear and concise communication and handle staff issues promptly. Ensure all staff model equity, inclusion, cultural competence and global awareness in all areas of work.
· Partners with the CEO, board and community to ensure the Y is identifying and meeting community needs effectively.
· Build upon ongoing efforts, and lead by example, to create a customer-focused approach to all branch operations, delivering a best-in-class experience for visitors to our Y.
· Review existing programs, enrollment and impact to ensure program participants are meeting goals. Develop strategies to address weaknesses and/or make recommendation for continuance or change.
· Monitors monthly department financial reports to assure that revenue targets are met and expenses are controlled.
