Job Description

As the ninth branch of the YMCA Of Greater Brandywine, this newly developed 25,000 sq ft. nine court facility is located in beautiful Downingtown, PA. You can be joining a cause driven YNAN Y dedicated to the mission and to having the mission come alive by bringing pickleball and its social, mental and physical benefits to all ages and abilities. The YMCA Pickleball Center Director will be responsible for all aspects of the operation.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of three years of YMCA supervisory experience or related operational experience.
  • Mastery of the game of Pickleball and the ability to teach and share the sport with others.
  • IPTPA Certified Level 2 Teaching Professional or PRO Level PPR Certification(preferred).
  • Experience and expertise with technology and social media.
  • Experience with Pickleball Den and willingness to learn, use and be proficient to manage all aspects of the software system.
  • Ability to direct programs through supervision of volunteers and staff required.
  • Preferred knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.
  • Strong organizational and people skills required.
  • YMCA Team Leader certification preferred.
  • Must be fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Obtain and maintain all new hire certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience required
Essential Functions
  • Develop, manage, and use data to evaluate operating plans to reach and maintain maximum membership goals and enhance program offerings
  • Implement a comprehensive strategy and curriculum to enhance the pickleball program and increase participation in lessons, clinics, classes, and other special events.
  • Instruct pickleball lessons, clinics, and drill sessions on techniques, tactics, and strategies to improve participants’ overall game. This includes both one-on-one lessons and group clinics for all levels.
  • Develop a diverse schedule of year-round programs and a welcoming environment that encourages all skill levels to participate.
  • Develop and implement court reservations and schedules.
  • Implement and oversee open skill level play, tournaments, leagues and special events to promote the sport and build community.
  • Provides data, rosters, schedules, and reports as required for assigned programs.
  • Meet and exceed annual budget revenue.
  • Hire, train, and supervise additional staff and volunteers to provide group lessons, private lessons, classes, special events, and to monitor skill-level play as needed.
  • Ensures accurate completion of all payroll functionality for assigned staff including but not limited to timecard approvals, changes and scheduling of assigned staff.
  • Lead the program with enthusiasm and positive motivation.
  • Lead by example at all times.  Interact with a high level of professionalism and accountability.
  • Ability to direct programs through supervision of volunteers and staff required in a fast-paced working environment.
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge and ability to demonstrate skills necessary for specialty field.
  • Ensures that program and Association standards and policies are met and safety procedures are followed and assures compliance with state and local regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
