CDC Director

The YMCA of Central Texas is seeking a Director of a Child Development Center (CDC).
Job Description

The Director will oversee management of the YMCA Child Development Center including staff development, the development of high-quality programs, day to day operations, and establish professional, positive relationships with parents, children, colleagues, and the community.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of three years verifiable experience in a licensed child care center
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a supervisory role
  • Preferred educational requirements: Related degree (Masters, Bachelors, or Associates) in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Child and Family Studies or related field.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and ability to lead staff in implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum
  • Demonstrate outstanding written and oral communication and organizational skills
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple priorities and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner
  • Must be computer literate in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Demonstrate the social skills necessary to relate to a variety of people, remaining positive even under stressful situations
  • Ability to provide active supervision to a group of children
  • Must pass reference checks, pre-employment drug screen, background check and sex offender registry check.
Essential Functions
  • Daily management of the Child Development Center
  • Program quality and compliance with the State of Texas Department of Family and Protective Services
  • Work with all teachers and aides to achieve an average of 90% or higher in every classroom on CDC parent surveys
  • Ensure programs promote the development of each child’s physical, emotional, and cognitive development in a nurturing environment.
  • Model exemplary professionalism and work ethics
  • Ensure the safety and supervision of children at all times
  • Substitute in classrooms and the kitchen as needed
  • Ensure key staff is meeting their job responsibilities to ensure the budget is met or exceed
  • Meet targeted enrollment numbers and overseeing waitlist and new enrollments
  • Maintain staff and children’s files
  • Develop and implement at least three summer enrichment (for fee) offerings
  • Develop and implement individual training plans for each CDC employee
  • Development of developmentally appropriate goals and standards for each classroom
  • Conduct monthly center and individual staff meetings
  • Personally complete 36 hours of work-related training annually
