Job Description

The Maintenance Technician II performs work independently on preventative, routine and emergency maintenance for the building, building support systems, and membership program equipment.

  • You are able to learn and practice the safe and correct operation of the equipment assigned to perform the required tasks.
  • You are able to learn and practice the correct procedures and techniques used in cleaning the facility.
  • You are able to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
  • You are able to report and record maintenance requests.
  • You have knowledge of cleaning methods and custodial, maintenance, and office equipment.
  • You have a basic understanding of the upkeep and care of equipment.
  • Able to complete Child Abuse Prevention training on first day and other online or in-person training as required.
Essential Functions

Key Responsibilities: 

  • You will perform preventative, routine and emergency maintenance for the building, its support systems and program equipment
  • Operate and maintain the swimming and hydrotherapy pools at functioning levels
  • Operate and maintain the heating and air conditioning systems to ensure member satisfaction.
  • Perform routine and emergency maintenance repairs as needed
  • Maintain product inventory listings, Material Safety Data Sheets
  • Ensure YMCA building and property is secure during shift and report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor
