The Hurley Family Branch at the Hockomock Area YMCA in North Attleboro, MA is hiring a Health & Wellness Director. 
Job Description

The Health & Wellness Director is responsible for the development, organization, and implementation of all health and wellness programs. This includes, but is not limited to, group exercise, personal training services, wellness center programs, and community outreach. 

Qualifications
  • Minimum of an Associate’s Degree or higher in a related field
  • Accredited Personal Training and Group Exercise Certification from an approved organization
  • Experience in a wide range of areas of fitness, specifically growing and developing revenue in personal training, knowledge of group exercise trends, and managing a large staff team
  • Ability to relate effectively with diverse groups of people from all social and economic backgrounds, as well as physical and mental abilities
  • Ability to think innovatively, developing long and short term plans, and operating within a well-thought out strategy
  • Ability to establish supportive relationships with staff and volunteers
  • Sound judgment in appropriately delegating responsibilities to staff and volunteers to accomplish necessary duties
  • Ability to supervise, direct, and guide all operations with the knowledge of the Association’s long and short-range goals
Essential Functions
  • Recruits, hires, trains and supervises Wellness staff
  • Creates, develops, and maintains a personal training system that focuses on sales, revenue growth, and member retention
  • Meets or exceeds personal training revenue goals with quality, certified personal trainers who regularly help members achieve their fitness and health goals
  • Designs and implements the schedule of Group Exercise programming to best serve the membership demographic, making format or instructor changes when necessary
  • Recruits new, fresh group exercise instructors to continually infuse innovation into the schedule
  • Ensures that the group exercise schedule is accurate, and that classes are running as scheduled with limited interruption
  • Arranges for substitutes as necessary and leads classes when no instructor is available
  • Supervises the wellness floor staff, and ensures they are delivering high-quality service by interacting with members, developing relationships, and helping people attain their goals
  • Extends YMCA services to the community by scheduling community-based activities, outreach programming, ensuring these programs are billed properly and payment is received
  • Maintains equipment and outside service contracts, ensuring 48 hour response time
  • Ensures facility is neat and clean
  • Contributes to the success of the YMCA Annual Campaign by recruiting a team of volunteers, meeting or exceeding established financial goals
  • Participates and supports Branch and Association special events such as the Annual Triathlon and Legends Ball
  • Prepares the annual department budget and administers approved budgets, taking appropriate action to maintain fiscal soundness and delivering projections
  • Innovates and develops new wellness programs and opportunities for staff
  • Attends staff meetings and supervisory meetings
  • Provides feedback to staff, and reviews and documents performance on an annual basis
