Qualifications
- High School Diploma, or equivalent, and at least 18 years old
- Bachelor’s degree or previous camp experience/knowledge preferred
- CPR, First Aid, (required) and Lifeguard certification preferred (will train)
- Possess a basic knowledge of the outdoors
Essential Functions
- Responsible for the instruction of environmental education and conference groups including teaching, belaying (will train), boating etc. for school and community groups
- Assisting with curriculum development and planning; and acting as host for school/conference groups (no direct overnight supervision responsibilities)
- Provide community outreach and programs through YMCA Milwaukee programs as well as engagement with campers through year round school programs
- While programming is a focus for this position; staff will also gain valuable knowledge and experience in overall camp, not for profit, outdoor education, and outdoor recreation management. (training tailored to your goals)
