Job Description
The Facility Director is responsible for the operation and appearance of assigned buildings and grounds and for their ability to be open and ready for business in a safe environment on a daily basis. They will be responsible for the Strafford County branch, Somersworth Early Learning Center, and the seasonal Camp Coney Pine location. To include both the oversight of and direct care of maintenance and custodial activities at all assigned locations.
Qualifications
- Experience in facilities management
- Possess good communication skills
- Previous supervisory experience
- Possess diagnostic abilities and skills in completing detailed reports
- Possess the mechanical skills necessary for accomplishing repairs
- Light plumbing, electrical and carpentry skills
Essential Functions
- Manage the day to day activities of Facilities Department in keeping the buildings and grounds in good repair, clean and safe.
- Manage department staff including hiring, training, annual performance reviews and productivity.
- Maintain the assigned facilities.
- Responsible for maintenance budget of assigned facilities.
- Responsible for tracking and managing department and staffing expenses to include overtime.
- Manage and facilitate preventative maintenance programs for building equipment and facility, both operational and capital projects, in conjunction with the Vice President of Facilities.
- Reports to Executive Directors and Vice President of Facilities.
- Manage contractor and vendor contracts for building services, project scope and facilitation.
- Complete daily to weekly walk-through to evaluate cleanliness and safety, and provide updates to Executive Director.
- Ensure coverage of all maintenance/custodial vacancies within the department. Performs custodial and maintenance duties as necessary.
- Work with Vice President of Facilities to ensure all physical and mechanical planned operations are maintained and contingency plans are in place.
- Participate in Buildings & Grounds Committee and Safety Committee.
