Job Description

Working as a member of our summer family camp program staff you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service. Facilitating program delivery in a multitude of areas that include: Games, Hikes, Arts and Crafts, Archery. Other program areas include our waterfront with swimming and boating, and the Adventure courses that include a climbing wall / multi-level ropes course and 4-way giants’ ladder.

Employment dates: June 4th - August 5th

Qualifications

●     Must be 18 years of age

     Desire to work outside

     Ability to live by and model the YMCA’s 4 core values: Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility.

     Encourage respect for personal property, camp equipment and facilities and maintain a proactive, positive attitude at all times.

     Actively participate in all staff trainings and meetings.

     Criminal Clearance, Drug test screening.

Essential Functions
  • Participate enthusiastically in all camp activities, planning and leading those as assigned.
  • Ensure all YMCA policy and procedures are followed to provide a fun yet safe environment for all.
  • Provide frontline service to our camp families.
  • Aid in providing a clean, safe property for campers, volunteers, and staff
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Certifications

Red Cross Lifeguarding, First Aid and CPR for the professional rescuer offered free of charge to those interested in becoming lifeguards. (Course dates: May 28th – June 1st)

Adventure Course training offered to those interested in facilitating the Rock Wall / Ropes Course and Giants Ladder. Training takes place onsite by Challenge Works and is at no cost to Adventure Staff. (Dates: TBD)
