The position of Reach and Rise Director requires strong leadership and organizational skills; an understanding of programs, services and relationships needed to meet the needs of a growing and diverse community; and a commitment to use a broad array of traditional and modern communication channels to effectively present the values, priorities and work of the Community Impact YMCA.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth impacts lives every day. We are a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Reach & Rise Director is responsible for the oversight and ongoing development and implementation of the YMCA's National Reach & Rise Mentoring Program with the YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth. This candidate will be responsible for establishing the Reach & Rise Program Model by recruiting, training, and matching volunteers, as well as responsible for managing risk. They ensure uniformity of training curriculum, data collection, outcome objectives, and ongoing clinical support. The Reach & Rise Program Director will receive training in human subjects, and work with research partners to collect and produce all data related to the child, the family, and the mentoring relationship, in accordance with OJJDP grant requirements.

This position is concerned with the delivery and coordination of services in the community. To this end, the Program Director must have the interpersonal skills to interact with volunteers, youth, and the community. The Reach & Rise Program Director effectively manages and ensures compliance with all aspects of active grants and the partnership agreements with OJJDP, and YMCA of San Francisco.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent work experience (or currently enrolled in a Bachelor's Program).
  • Two or more years of program management experience.
EXPERIENCE & BACKGOUND
  • High energy, positive, "can-do" attitude, flexibility, attention to detail, and a high degree of initiative will help this candidate be successful.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to direct programs through leading both staff and volunteers, developing and monitoring budgets, developing and marketing programs and bringing enthusiasm and a passion for fundraising.
  • This leader will also need the ability to connect and relate with diverse groups of people at all levels of the organization.
Essential Functions
  • Familiarity and experience working with target population.
  • Familiarity and experience working in or with community-based agencies.
  • Familiarity and experience in working in a "practitioner-researcher" collaborative study.
  • Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated follow through on tasks; multi-project/multi-task orientation.

  • Ability to work independently and produce results with minimal supervision.
  • Proven ability to work with people from a variety of different ethnic, socioeconomic, educational, religious, sexual, and generational backgrounds.

  • Develops and monitors program budget to meet fiscal objectives.
  • Assists in YMCA fundraising activities and special events.
  • Models relationship-building skills in all interactions. Responds to all member and community inquires and complaints in a timely manner.
  • Assists in marketing and distribution of program information.
  • Works with diversity and inclusion initiatives to ensure "For All" in our communities and staffing.
  • Establishes new program activities and expands program within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
  • Provide accurate, timely completion and submission of all mentor/mentee related documents.
  • Completion of all required paperwork per the partnership agreement and as specified by the OJJDP grant requirements.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Woth offers a competitive salary and benefits package for selected candidates.

The yearly salary range for this position is $43,000 - $45,000 and will be commensurate with the selected candidates experience.
