Job Description

Responsible for overseeing the financial aspects of assigned branches. Help support the Associations’ financial strategy and planning. Including monitoring of revenues, expenses, and cost allocation methods. Qualifications
  • BA/BS Degree required and or combination of education and experience
  • 3-5 years’ experience as a YMCA Finance Director
  • In depth knowledge of YMCA finance and accounting principles and best practices highly desired
  • Experience in preparing multiple interrelated budgets, analyzing financial results and preparing projections using electronic spreadsheets
  • Supervisory experience to include hiring, training and developing assigned finance directors
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Visual ability to read and analyze budgets, contracts and grants
  • Must have visual, physical, and auditory ability to act swiftly in emergency situations
  • CPR/AED, and First Aid Certification, must include Adult and Child/Infant, obtained within 30 days of hire and must be from one of the following certifying organizations:
  • American Red Cross
  • American Heart Association
  • American Safety & Health Institute
Essential Functions
  • Oversees all accounting and administrative procedures for assigned branches
  • Generate, maintain and evaluate branch budget records
  • Monitors all AP/AR functions for assigned branches
  • Proactively provide recommendations to streamline and automate work processes, and reduce/eliminate non-value-added work
  • Reviews detailed journals and related subsidiary records/reports & reconciles to monthly general ledger account balances, as needed
  • Improve performance management (forecasting, KPIs, etc.) for assigned branches
  • Responsible for preparing the finance committee reports for the AED’s/ED’s notes
  • Provide training support to all directors with budget development, monitoring and forecasting
  • Provide necessary financial information to leadership via effective and timely communication
  • Provide best practice on all accounting processes at the branch
  • Responsible for all accounting audits and branch EOD/EOM reports per the guidelines of the association
