The YMCA of the Ozarks is looking for a Leadership Director to join their team in Potosi, MO.

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Develops, organizes and implements high quality YMCA program(s).

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent preferred.
  • Two plus years related experience preferred.
  • Class E Driver’s License is preferred.
  • CPR/FA/AED Certification required.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Completion of YMCA program-specific certifications.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
Essential Functions
  • Directs and supervises program activities to meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives.
  • Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs staff and volunteers as needed. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of programs including, but not limited to; staff schedules, service schedules, guest schedules, marketing schedules and staff training schedules.
  • Establishes new program activities and expands program within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
  • Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations, and supporting departments.
  • Coordinates use of facilities for program activities and events.
  • Models relationship-building skills in all interactions. Responds to all member and community inquiries and complaints in timely manner.
  • Assist in the enhancement of the overall service and expertise levels among program staff through
  • consistent leadership, positive example-setting, special-event planning and counseling.
  • May assist with Program Committee meetings.
  • Assists other departments with projects and facility upkeep in non-peak times.
  • Assist with fundraising, as assigned.
  • Provides the Maintenance department with timely information pertaining to the upkeep, maintenance and operations of program areas and related equipment.
  • May directly facilitate programming and activities as participant numbers dictate.
  • Ensure accurate timecards, consistent documentation and maintenance of training records, license requirements, and certifications.
  • Will work all shifts, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Performs any/all program administration duties deemed necessary.
  • Functions as a Manager on Duty (MOD) as scheduled serving as a liaison between staff and guests ensuring their care and safety.
  • ACCT Level II certification required, or able to acquire in the first 6 months of employment. Course Manager certification preferred.
  • Facilitate and grow leadership, teambuilding programs, and climbing experiences and occasionally offsite at other locations.
  • Ensure facilitator checklist and safety checklist sheets are actively used and recorded for all elements.
  • Work, throughout the year, to train and run services for anyone facilitating team building and high ropes activities.
  • In collaboration with the SR Program Director, identify the full-time team members that should be Level I trained and ensure that all of those staff receive and maintain adequate training.
  • Work with the programming director team to support all facilitators on the programs team.
  • Responsible for programming in all areas pertaining to facilitation of climbs or teambuilding, and any other responsibilities deemed necessary in assuring that the guests are provided with a quality and safe experience.
  • Assist in maintenance of equipment, climbing elements, and low ropes courses.
  • Has monthly skill development classes (in-services) with all trained facilitators.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
