Job Description

We are currently looking to add to our custodial team where you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the building and surrounding grounds. This position offers flexible hours to meet your needs, whether you're looking for 6am-2pm, 7am-3pm, 8am-5pm, we can work with your needs.

 
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED with five years of related facilities management experience.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Prior experience with or ability to learn equipment operation (including cleaning equipment, hand and power tools, etc.) required.
  • Ability to work with chemicals and solvents used in housekeeping, maintenance, and grounds keeping.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to connect with people of diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to complete YMCA required training as scheduled by management.
  • Maintain updated certifications of the job (CPR and First Aid/AED).
  • Ability to respond to
  • critical incidents and act swiftly in emergency situations.
Essential Functions
  • Provide exceptional customer service.
  • Ensure cleanliness of the facility (floors, bathrooms, etc.)
  • Grounds keeping (lawn maintenance, snow removal, etc.)
  • Complete scheduled and nonscheduled soft maintenance work orders in a timely fashion.
  • Troubleshoot and correct maintenance-related problems or ensures appropriate corrective action by a qualified vendor or trades person (i.e. clogged drains, plumbing leaks, etc.)
  • Provide set-ups and breakdowns for programs, meetings, meals, special events, day camps).
  • Follow all Association and departmental safety procedures.
  • Resolve any safety issues that arise.
  • Conduct routine rounds and inspections of property and equipment.
  • Ability to work with a cross section of staff, volunteers, and community service workers.
  • Continually monitor program areas for safety and resolve any issue needing attention. Assist in routine risk reviews.
  • Responsible for emergency spill and Blood Borne Pathogen clean-up (training provided).
  • Maintain education/knowledge to ensure facility is compliant with current city, state, and local safety, maintenance and custodial requirements.
  • Responsible for accurate, complete Maintenance Department logs and records
  • Other duties as assigned.
