Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:With support & guidance from the Director of Operations, the Site Director will be responsible for the development, organization, implementation and over-sight of our summer camp and aquatic programs delivered out of our outdoor summer camp and pool site, as well as development, implementation and leadership of enrichment programming at our Edison Branch Y.

Qualifications
  • BS/BA degree in human services, social services, recreation, business or equivalent
  • Exceptional relationship building,decision making, communication and organizational skills necessary
  • Two years proven supervisory skills or relevant work experience
  • Program management experience
  • Budget development & management experience
  • Previous YMCA experience preferred
  • Certified Pool Operator, Lifeguard & CPR/AED certifications (or willingness to attain)
Essential Functions
  • Ensures the care, safety and well-being of all members, guests, participants and staff on site at the Edison Y and off-site at Oakcrest Community Pool. 
  • Interacts with participants, members, guests, staff and the community in a positive, professional manner.
  • Establishes, leads and supervises programs and events to meet the needs of the communities served.
  • Assesses the program’s impact and effectiveness using current data.
  • Ensures the program areas being used are safe, maintained and suit the needs of the program.
  • Recruits, hires, trains, schedules and develops staff to fill the needs of the programs within the culture of the Association.
  • Ensures staff are adequately trained in all safety and emergency procedures and certifications are current.
  • Ensures program and facility compliance with all state and local regulations.
  • Maintains all records according to local, state and YMCA policy.
  • Effectively completes administrative functions, including but not limited to: payroll, hiring packets, incident reports, brochure preparation, department and branch communications.
  • Develops and manages the budget for all areas of responsibility with guidance & direction from the Director of Operations.
  • Monitors and oversees purchases of all supplies necessary.
  • Communicates concerns to Branch Director of Operations in a timely manner to ensure they are being addressed.
  • Engages as an active participant and leader in YMCA staff teams, association teams & local & state networks as assigned.
  • Provides leadership within program areas for fundraising and events to support the overall efforts of the association.
  • All other duties as assigned.
