Job Description

Phantom Lake YMCA Camp in Mukwonago, Wisconsin, is looking to fill their health intern for summer 2020. This is a live-innursing position with 24 hours off each week (Saturday AM to Sunday AM). Room and board (1 bed/1 bath shared apartment inside our health lodge, 3 meals per day included).Health Intern (Minimum age - 21). Phantom Lake YMCA Camp has one health lodge operating with 2 Health Interns and 1 volunteer RN, weekly, to meet the needs of camp. Responsibilities include arrival health checks, organizing, monitoring, and administering all medications, sick calls, sick or injured camper care, organizing all doctor visits, and is a key player in our emergency health procedure. Seasonal position summer 2023, employment June 2023 - August 2023. 

Start Date: June 1, 2023     End Date: August 22, 2023 

Location: Mukwonago, WI (30 minutes from Milwaukee; 1.5 hours from Chicago.) 


What we are looking for:

MUST LOVE WORKING WITH KIDS. This is a live in position. You will work alongside a volunteer registered nurse, who will also live in (separately) and change weekly. Must be organized, patient and enthusiastic. Be able to handle many different types of camper situations and think on your feet. 

Position open to:

- Nursing students but pre-med acceptable

- Paramedics or EMT’s

- Wilderness First Responder Cert

Essential Functions

General Responsibilities: Reviewing medical forms, administering medication, talking with parents, basic first aid, and responding to medical emergencies.

Required Certifications

Required Certifications: First aid, CPR, and AED. American Heart Association or Red Cross preferred. (Can be completed at camp) Emergency Oxygen certification desired but not required.
