Job Description

Looking for an experienced Executive Director with extensive experience in membership and program growth to join our team. The Executive Director at the Haverford Y, in the heart of Havertown, PA is a high-profile leadership position responsible for our flagship 80,000 sq ft. facility with 3 indoor pools, a state-of-the-art fitness center, 3 group exercise studios, a gymnastics center, and a gymnasium. The Executive Director will ensure the Branch reaches financial goals, will guide a team of 200+ in providing best-in-class member experience and engagement, sales, and in-Branch business performance. Haverford Y currently provides services for over 22,000 members.  Supported by the Greater Philadelphia Association (GPY) team and a strong Advisory Board, the right candidate will have the opportunity to take a strong, well-established Y to even greater heights, serving the community in new and exciting ways. Qualifications
  • Bachelors Graduate or Equivalent; Master's Degree preferred
  • Current or past Executive Director experience preferred
  • 5+ years experience in fitness, retail, recreation management or hospitality industries
  • 5+ years experience managing 150+ team members
  • 5+ years experience managing Profit and Loss (P&L) statements/revenue/EBITDA budgets
  • Experience providing high-end member service and managing member concerns
  • Track record of success in a performance-driven work environment
  • Excellent interviewing skills
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, climb and lift up to 50 pounds
Essential Functions
  • Promote(s) and represent(s) the mission and values of the YMCA.  Participate as a member of the association staff team and contribute to a consistent GPY brand image.
  • Manages budgets, forecasts revenue and expenses for each department monthly/quarterly/annually.
  • Cultivates an engaged advisory board and connects members to the mission and purpose of the YMCA culminating in their commitment to volunteerism and financial support (fundraising).
  • Mentors (and motivates) department directors to ensure continuous growth through training, developing, direction, assessing performance, and providing feedback.
  • Build(s) community resources through the cultivation and development of relationships.  Actively engage members, volunteers, and community leaders in the Y mission.
  • Works with facility team to keep facility and grounds clean, safe and functional.
  • Promotes and sustains an environment where Safety and Child Protection are at the highest priority and has zero tolerance for non-compliance.
