Under the direction of the District VP of Operations, the Branch Executive Director is responsible for the day-to-day operations and programs of the Princeton YMCA branch, including membership, marketing, programs, facilities and equipment’s , risk management, fiscal management, volunteers, staff development, social responsibility initiatives, financial development, community relations and collaborations with community agencies.
Mission Advancement: Demonstrates in word and action the Y’s core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility and a commitment to the Y’s mission, in all matters at all times. Makes member and community needs paramount and does everything possible to engage and partner with members and community to exceed expectations. Advances the legacy of volunteer engagement and leadership. Values and supports the many facets of philanthropy as an essential component in achieving the Y’s mission.
Collaboration: Values all people for their unique talents and takes an active role in promoting practices that support diversity, inclusion, and cultural competence. Builds authentic relationships in the service of enhancing individual and team performance to support the Y’s work. Employs influence strategies that engage, inspire, and build commitment to position and overall Y goals. Listens and expresses ideas effectively and in a manner that reflects a true understanding of the needs of the audience. Recognizes and acts on the need to continually develop others’ capabilities to attain the highest level of performance possible.
Operational Effectiveness: Integrates logic, intuition, and sound judgment to analyze information to identify greatest opportunities, make sound decisions, and solve problems. Participates in the generation, experimentation, and implementation of new approaches and activities that improve and expand the Y’s mission and work. Supports goal attainment by prioritizing activities, assigning responsibilities in accordance with capabilities, monitoring progress and evaluating impact. Demonstrates and sustains the Y’s nonprofit business model. Demonstrates and fosters a strong commitment to achieving goals in a manner that provides quality experiences.
