The YMCA of Central Florida is seeking a dynamic leader as the Membership Director at Winter Park YMCA Family Center.
Job Description

The Membership Director is responsible for recruitment of new members, retention of existing members and supervision of assigned staff within the Family Center. The Membership Director II manages membership growth and retention through sales, promotion and marketing activities to achieve strategic goals and provide outstanding customer service to all members.

Qualifications

Requirements 

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

  1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; sales, marketing, communications or related field of study preferred.
  2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in sales, marketing, customer service or related field preferred.
  3. Minimum of 3 years of experience in staff supervision and leadership preferred.
  4. YMCA membership or operations experience required.
  5. Microsoft Office proficiency required; Oracle experience a plus.

  1. Must be willing to regularly work flexible hours, weekends and holidays.
  2. Must be willing to travel within Central Florida. Must have valid Florida driver license.

Essential Functions

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Implement membership and sales strategies that promote recruitment of new members, retention of existing members, and growth in membership bank draft. Direct staff to support and achieve membership development/retention goals.
  2. Develop marketing plans utilizing visual, written and verbal communication tools, including email, newsletters, mailing lists, signage and graphics.
  3. Analyze data, systems and processes to recognize membership growth and retention opportunities within the Family Center.
  4. Ensure proper implementation of front desk schedules and procedures to provide maximum opportunities for member/staff connections. Collaborate and work effectively with all departments to achieve desired results.
  5. Identify and employ best practices in systems and technology to support effective sales management of memberships. Utilize available sales tools, technology, reporting tools and data that enhance operations and member retention.
  6. Manage the membership process from opportunity through close of sale utilizing designated tracking systems.
  7. Promote program and membership enrollment through product knowledge and interactions with existing and potential members. Collaborate with department leads to maximize enrollments in program registration.
  8. Plan and execute membership events at the Family Center. Promote the Family Center and YMCA of Central Florida’s special events among the members and community.
  9. Establish and lead a volunteer Membership committee that assists in development and execution of membership retention efforts.
  10. Recruit, select, develop and retain appropriate skill depth level for the department. Supervise department staff. Support training and career succession plan for staff team.
  11. Provide leadership through established performance goals and standards, regular assessment of staff performance including annual performance evaluations, and staff meetings.
  12. Collaborate with the District Vice President/Executive Director to plan and manage the Membership budget. Control payroll and department purchasing costs within the budget and financial guidelines.
  13. Identify and recruit active volunteers for the Family Center Annual Scholarship Campaign.
  14. Promote and represent the mission and core values of the YMCA of Central Florida in the Family Center and its programs.
  15. All other duties assigned by Management.
