Job Description

We are currently seeking a Special Events & Corporate Membership Retention Director who will provide leadership for the growth and delivery of the Dallas YMCA Turkey Trot and who will be accountable for executing the plan that leads to increased registration, higher retention of sponsors and increased runner satisfaction.  This person will also be responsible for T. Boone Pickens YMCA corporate membership  retention including upgrading current partners to new plans, maintaining current relationships, and assisting in implementation of corporate wellness programs. 

Qualifications
  • Prefer 4-year degree and a minimum of 2 years of successful results in diverse development experiences including event sponsorship, annual contributed support, as well as corporate development.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing large events as well as the development of new events that will engage the Downtown corporations, residents, and the surrounding communities.
  • The incumbent must possess strong organizational and planning skills along with the ability to work as part of a staff team.
  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal skills are required.  
  • Must be capable of building relationships with corporate executives, community leaders, volunteers and staff.  
  • Must have a results oriented operations style that focuses on growth, quality and the achievement of goals.  
  • Must be a positive role model to staff, volunteers, and the community and be recognized as a cause-driven leader in the organization.
Essential Functions
  • Drive implementation of the Turkey Trot and corporate membership retention: includes being responsible for working with vendors, sponsors, assisting in distributing all Trot related brochures/flyers, updating electronic signage and event materials, radio magazine and newspaper ads.
  • Helps to develop and controls budgets related to the position.
  • Communicates regularly with all partners involved in the Trot to execute plan, coordinates marketing surrounding the Turkey Trot, works closely with volunteers,  and vendors to ensure a successful delivery.  
  • Responsible for TBP’s corporate membership retention. Will be responsible for creating and executing a plan that is focused on corporate membership growth from current  corporations, residential lofts as well as a year-round referral program from our existing corporate members. 
  • Will be responsible for creating a daily, weekly, monthly plan that will achieve the expected results in membership growth from corporate base to include open houses, health fairs, on-site wellness offerings and in-branch programing. 
  • Will be required to manage multiple priorities as it relates to the Turkey Trot, continuing to build relationships with the current sponsor base, vendors and the running community. 
  • Will be required to create an annual marketing plan for corporate membership retention that has an impact on the visibility of the T Boone Pickens YMCA in our community as well as to yield the desired results in corporate membership growth.   
  • Will be responsible for working with other T Boone Pickens YMCA staff to provide onsite wellness programs and services to the corporate and residential loft market.  
  • Must have proven skills to work independently as well as part of a strong staff team. 
  • Responsible for working closely with branch staff to create and implement the promotion plans in order to increase participation and meet revenue goals.
