Assistant Family Camp Director

New position to help assist our brand new Family Camp to grow in its first summer.
Camp Description
Brand new creation of our family camp! With grant and donor gifts we are creating a family camp on the west bay of our youth residential camp.
Job Description

The YMCA of the Seven Council Fires' Camp Marrowbone is looking for an Assistant Director for the unique opportunity of opening a Family Camp for its inaugural summer. To offset and complement the Family Camp Director’s strengths and weaknesses, this Assistant Director should be charismatic and excited about event planning and facilitation.

The key component of this position will be the planning and executing of events such as Beach Parties, Dances, and other creative family fun. There will also be ample opportunities to lead excursions/trips off property. This position will also be trusted to lead camp if the Family Camp Director is leading an excursion himself. The Family Camp is on the same property as our Youth Summer Camp and assisting Youth Camp may be a part of the role at times.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a candidate looking for their first leadership role in camp. Our organization is in a phase of growth and full time employment may open up in the future. Our camp is located on the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe Reservation. Native American cultural knowledge is not a prerequisite for application, but an openness to learn is important to success in the organization.
