Job Description

Under the direction of the Membership Director, the Membership Coordinator is responsible for assisting with all procedures related to the enrollment of members, enrolling program participants, maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the lobby and café area, and controlling access to the facility - all facets of demonstrating a positive role model in providing exceptional Customer Service while contributing to member retention.

The Membership Coordinator also engages in and promotes the YMCA mission through the core values of:  Honesty, Caring, Responsibility, Respect and Faith.

Qualifications
  • Strong Customer Service skills.
  • Must be a competent and effective leader.
  • Skills in planning, organizing, systematizing, implementing are essential.
  • Demonstrate competent and effective leader.
  • Must have proven skills in problem solving and decision-making.
  • Proven ability to handle with integrity confidential and sensitive information.
  • Must be able to prepare reports, correspondence, meet deadlines.
  • Strong knowledge of computer applications, particularly MS Excel, Word.
Essential Functions
  • Conduct interviews and/or tours responsive to the needs of prospective members; sell memberships.
  • Build relationships with members and community; helping them connect with one another and with the YMCA.
  • Handle and resolve membership concerns; inform supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.
  • Adhere to dress code - Must wear name tag, staff shirt, black or khaki pants, comfortable shoes or sneakers. No open toe shoes (for safety reasons).
  • Process memberships and take photos for membership cards.  Ensuring accuracy in spelling and non-duplication in the database.
Required Certifications

·     An associate’s degree or higher degree is preferred.
