Job Description

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading charity committed to strengthening community. Oversees the total operation of the residential program of the YMCA, ensuring support for the short-term social, physical and emotional services of the resident population. This includes staff and budget management, as well as assisting in the delivery of program and service development and oversight.

Qualifications
  • BA/BS in Social Work or Psychology or related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years prior work experience with the adult male mental health population.
  • Two years of experience with budget mgmt. and staff supervision.
  • 8+ years of experience in a leadership position, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency.
  • Ability to direct total operations through volunteer development, supervision of staff, development and monitoring of branch budget, marketing and public relations, and program development.
  • Experience in management and development of volunteer involvement; ability to recruit top
    community leaders. Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.
  • Excellent human relation skills, good organizational and communication skills.
  • YMCA Multi-Team or Branch Leader certification preferred.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
Essential Functions
  • Develops annual operating objectives and plan for the Men’s Residence program at 845 Commons.
  • Develops, manages, and monitors the branch operating budget and meet or exceeds budget
    Researches and writes grants to support the residence program.
  • Develops, monitors and administers annual budget (income and expense) for the Department.
  • Manages all staff and volunteers – recruit, hire, train, develop, supervise and evaluate.
  • Manages electronic time/attendance, biweekly payroll and employee records for all exempt staff.
  • Develop a network of related services to assist in the delivery of a comprehensive support program for the residents.
  • Directs and assists staff in the management of crisis situations with direct assessments, referral
    for psychological/psychiatric assessments, one on one supervision and discharge proceedings.
  • Attends community service meetings, representing the YMCA in a professional manner at functions regarding issues of the resident population.
  • Reviews all critical incidents and assist staff in identifying trends of behavior and programmatic
    Ensures the development and maintenance of treatment plans for all clients.
  • Facilitates and assists staff in the management of crisis situations with direct assessment, referral for psychological/psychiatric assessments, one on one supervision and discharge proceedings.
  • Ensures appropriate record-keeping and documentation.
  • Develops and implements marketing plan for residence programs.. Coordinates the development of the branch board and committees. Directs the volunteer activities
    (policy and program) of the branch.
  • Ensures the safety and maintenance of high-quality facilities, grounds, and equipment.
  • Serves as a member of Y management and supports the overall objectives of the YMCA.
  • Familiar with and able to implement emergency procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the facility as a member of the Clean Team.
  • Special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
