· Recruit, hire, train, schedule, supervise and evaluate all swim team coaches and volunteers.
· Coordinate and supervise the full Swim Team Program including athlete and parent engagement, program enrollment and growth in quality, and promoting aquatic programming in the community. Work with supervisor to identify any recruitment strategies and promotions to help maximize program enrollments.
· Provide the daily on deck staff leadership for practices and swim meets including the proper instruction of the four competitive swim strokes and the development of an annual training plan to enhance the performance for each team member.
· Develop and lead a yearly goal plan for the Swim Team Program including scheduling of all competitions and practices, under seasonal schedules. Schedule must be approved by the supervisor by the start of the season.
· Manage all administrative functions of the swim team including, but not limited to, preparing meet entries, athlete and team registrations, management of team records and record boards and all other related administrative tasks.
· Develop, with support of supervisor, the fiscal year budget for the swim team program and strive to meet the budget including managing Team unify Accounts, swim team dues payments, swim meet and team registration payments.
· Oversee purchasing and sales of any swim team merchandise such as t-shirts and swim caps.
· Oversee purchasing and management of all swim team budgeted supplies.
· Liaison to a Volunteer Meet Director to prepare and submit Hosted Swim Meet Bids, Sanctions, Meet Information, and Event Files for visiting teams, Team Entry Files and conduct all pre-meet meetings either in-person or virtually. Support Meet Operations Team to oversee input of all meet entries, seeding of events, entry, results, and all other required reporting as well as preparation of all post-meet awards and reports.
· Develop and implement an effective communication plan both internally and externally to swim team participants, parents as well as the membership and related user groups. Provide direct input and oversight of all social media communication including management of Team Unify Account and related services to include, but not limited to Swim Team Website, Facebook page and other social media outlets.
· Liaison with Swim Team Task Force Volunteer coordinator, all volunteer coordination and training efforts to support swim team functions including establishment of Sign-Up Genius or other volunteer recruitment tools to cover all GOLD Team Hosted meets to include, but not limited to, recruitment of meet officials, timers, marshals, hospitality, timing and computer operators, and all other necessary meet support positions.
· Provide supervision to Swim Team Task Force Committee
· Work closely with the Director of Aquatics, and other YMCA departments, to promote swim team enrollment as an extension of the progressive swim lesson program.
· Assist in developing program schedules for swim team.
· Assist in the marketing and distribution of program information.
· Attend all swim meets and practices for the assigned swim group.
· Represent the Goldsboro Family YMCA for all local, statewide, regional, or national competitive swimming events or functions, including any planned statewide House of Delegates Meetings, as well as state, regional and National YMCA Swimming Coaches in-person and virtual calls.
· Maintain effective, positive relationships with the members, participants, and other staff.
· Know/review all emergency procedures and respond to emergency situations immediately in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures. Complete all required reports.
· Maintain all required safety certifications as well as YMCA and USA Swimming requirements to be on deck.
· Perform all other duties as assigned
