Under the supervision of the Association Aquatics Director, this position is responsible for development and oversight of all Aquatics programming for the association. Working with branch executive directors and site aquatics directors, ensure all programming, training, health and safety, and member satisfaction is a best-in-class aquatics program.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (Preferred)
At least seven-ten (7-10) years of experience in leadership, management and instruction in a wide variety of Aquatics programs and pool maintenance
Red Cross Lifeguarding certification
Superior influence and management skills, and a demonstrated track record of achievement
Experience supervising management staff and developing team.
Experience building outstanding pool schedules and class schedules, great member relations and staff relations skills
Preferred Certifications that may set you apart: (not required to apply)
Red Cross Certifications in Lifeguarding, YMCA Swim Lessons, YMCA Principles of Competitive Swimming & Diving.
Certification to teach Lifeguard and Lifeguard Instructor Training (Red Cross)
CPR, First Aid, O2
CPO/POOL (Pool Operator on Location).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Physically and verbally able to interact with members and staff.
At times, be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Work with site executive directors and aquatics directors to develop, implement, and oversee all aquatic programs that reflect community needs and maintain the YMCA’s high standards of quality, safety, and caring
Create an Aquatics Quality Team, to ensure a ‘best in class’ Aquatics program.
Develop and deliver high impact training for the association:
CPR
Lifeguarding
Health & Safety
Summer Season: (June – August) Act as Aquatics Leader for the North Kingstown beach, Camp Fuller waterfronts and Kent County Ponds.
Work with site aquatics directors and coordinators to ensure that pools meet all health and safety standards
Work with site aquatics directors to ensure that all staff have appropriate and updated certifications on file.
