The Staff Accountant will serve as a member of the CFO’s Finance team and manage the day-to-day accounting activities, including monthly close process, bank and balance sheet account reconciliations and the preparation of monthly financial reports. Additional responsibilities include year-end audit preparation, financial analysis, budget preparations and supporting internal and external customers regarding accounting and business inquiries. Perform other job-related duties as may be periodically assigned by the CFO. The Staff Accountant will also exhibit the core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility in all aspects of their work at the YMCA of Montclair.
The YMCA of Montclair is seeking a competent, committed, and creative Staff Accountant to support the finance functions of our Association. Candidates must have solid business acumen and good analytical as well as technical skills. Considerable knowledge of budgetary, accounting and reporting systems is preferred. The incumbent will help ensure that finance processes, procedures and internal controls are effective and efficient. Additionally, he/she will work as a member of the finance team as a highly visible department liaison, assisting all departments in interpreting and improving financial reporting activities.
