YMCA Camp Potawotami is an overnight camp that focuses on increasing our campers sense of accomplishment and belonging while they learn about positive character traits and values. This happens through traditional camp activities and through our specialized character development program called Wampum. YMCA Camp Potawotami is located in Northeast Indiana.
Job Description

YMCA Camp Potawotami is looking for energetic, fun and creative Specialty Camp Supervisors for the 2022 Summer Season.

The Specialty Camp Supervisor will be responsible for planning, managing supplies, and operating specialty camp programs which includes: Mini Camp, Harry Potter camp, Potawotami Einstein’s, Fishing/Target Specialty and Drama/Theatre Specialty. Ensuring that each program has appropriate, fun, and engaging programming planned out for the campers and proper supplies. Staff working those camps are property trained and prepared to facilitate programming. Daily tasks include trouble shooting any scheduling conflicts that may arise. 

As a member of the summer camp leadership team, this position will assist with other areas of summer camp programming as assigned including but not limited to evening programs, program set-up and tear-down, assisting counselors and campers, office tasks, evening rounds, general cleaning and organization.  All staff must pass a criminal background check and drug test. 

Salary Information: $432 per week plus room and board.

Season Dates: May 20-August 5, 2022

Qualifications
  1. Must be at least 19 years of age with resident camp experience in a leadership role.
  2. Knowledge about outdoor environment with ability to plan and organize, be comfortable speaking with parents, work with a team, and have flexibility.
  3. Promote and incorporate the YMCA core values and mission into all aspects of the job and in the community.
  4. Team player who is able to fulfill all demands in spirit, mind, and body as an Adventure Supervisor.
  5. Positive, service-oriented attitude serving diverse groups of campers in regard to age, ethnicity, gender, race, economic status, religion, etc.
