Everyone is Welcome at the Y
We are committed to ensuring ALL have access to the Y and feel safe and welcome at any of our facilities.
At the Y, we believe in a diverse world. We are stronger when our doors are open to all. In celebration of Pride Week, the YMCA of San Diego County embraces the diversity that brings strength to our communities.
As a leading community-based organization committed to serving all people, we're a proud sponsor of the 2019 Pride Festival, July 13-14 at Balboa Park. Look for YMCA booths at the festival and our walking contingent at the parade!
As part of our ongoing effort to provide support to those in need, we invite you to learn more about Our Safe Place, a certified outpatient behavioral health program that provides a welcoming and supportive environment for LGBTQ+ youth ages 12 to 21 and their families. Two of the program's four drop-in centers are operated by our YMCA Tay Academy.
Learn more by reading Ren's letter, written by an OSP participant who shared their story as a way to advocate for a camp for LGBTQ+ youth.
The YMCA of San Diego County is an organization open to all people. We welcome and value individuals of all age, race, ethnicity, religion, gender identity, gender expression, ability, sexual orientation or financial circumstance. We are committed to having programs and services that embrace diversity, reflecting the people and needs of our community.
