jamie hood


Jamie received her Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from the University of California, Irvine in 2011 and her Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Hope International University in 2013.

Jamie began her practicum training counseling individuals, children, and families at Hope Counseling Center in Fullerton, California. Now, she works once a week in Orange County at Grace Counseling Group in Los Alamitos and is a volunteer therapist at Precious Life Shelter for pregnant, homeless women.

She is continuing her training as an intern at the YMCA Youth & Family Services in San Diego and specializes in a model of psychotherapy known as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Jamie also has an extensive background working with children with special needs and their parents as a behavior therapist.

Jamie provides therapy services for children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families struggling with depression, anxiety, autism/Asperger’s, substance abuse, and relational problems. Jamie has also worked with bipolar disorder, eating disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, various personality disorders, chronic pain, and phase of life problems. Jamie is trained in EMDR and is a certified Prepare/Enrich therapist.

Jamie aims to provide a sense of hope for clients struggling with various problems and seeks to guide them into a better understanding of themselves to create change, stability, and higher self-confidence. She provides a safe, encouraging, and non-judgmental environment to produce healing and restoration.
