Amy Zuill-Smith grew up in North County San Diego and her interest in psychology and therapy began in high school. Amy graduated from the University of California Santa Cruz with a B.A. in Psychology. She then received her Master of Science Degree for Clinical Psychology from Simpson University.
During and after her graduate program, Amy worked as a child/teen grief counselor at the Hospice of Santa Cruz County where she worked with kids in and out of school settings who were struggling with the loss of a loved one.Amy then moved back to the San Diego area and began working with the GUIDE Program in Carlsbad where she worked with elementary aged children in various Carlsbad schools. Her work there focused on helping children struggling with family issues, mental health struggles, and behavior concerns.
Now, with YMCA Youth & Family Services, Amy offers counseling to children, teens, adults, couples and families. Amy works to be a partner in her client’s journeys of healing and self-discovery.
