has been with the YMCA of San Diego County since 2012, and is thrilled to lead
and supervise the Inclusion & Behavior Support Services Program for YMCA
Youth & Family Services.
Jacqueline began her career of working with youth and their families over 10 years ago, and has a deep-rooted passion for making this field her lifelong commitment and career. She received her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education, and received a specialized ZA endorsement in Early Childhood Education from Western Michigan University. In Michigan, Jacqueline received her Michigan Provisional Teaching Certificate.
Since her move to California, she has received her California Teacher of English Learners (CTEL/CLAD) Certification, as well as her California Site Supervisor Permit and California Multi-subject Preliminary Teaching Credential. Jacqueline completed her MAEd, and has her school counseling credential and a graduate certificate in School Based Mental Health. She is working on receiving her School Psychology credential, as well.
Jacqueline completed her Yoga Certification this summer, and is a Registered Yoga Instructor.
Over the past couple of years, Jacqueline has attended a wide array of over sixty different trainings within the education, psychology, training and development, leadership, and mental health fields. She has received certificates in Training and Development from California State San Marcos, Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), ASSIST, PREPARE, Motivational Interviewing, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Street Yoga, and Positive Discipline. In addition, she has attended several professional development trainings on topics ranging from homeless youth to emotional self-regulation.
Lastly, the YMCA of San Diego County has provided Jacqueline with numerous training opportunities regarding leadership and supervision. In 2014, she received her Team Leader Certification from the YMCA of USA. In March of 2016, she received Outstanding Rookie Director of the Year Award.
Jacqueline thoroughly enjoys and believes in continued education. She plans to always further her education, training, and knowledge as she carries on with her professional endeavors.
