Inclusion & behavior support services

This program provides support to youth who are experiencing social/emotional behavioral challenges within the after-school setting, as well as, one-on-one support to students with IEP’s and 504 plans. The program currently serves youth who are enrolled in existing YMCA after-school programs.

Building Bridges

Who We Serve:

  • Youth, ages 5-22
  • Students attending elementary school and middle school
  • Youth with IEP’s/504 Plans
  • Youth who experience social, emotional, and/or behavioral challenges

Who We Are:

  • Behavior Support Specialists have specialized training in behavior management
  • We have background education in the field of education or another related field
  • All Specialists have previous experience working with youth

What We Do:

  • Work with professionals and nonprofessional to implement behavior modification techniques
  • Help students develop effective communication and coping skills
  • Ensure that all students are included in after-school academic enrichment
  • Collaborate with youth to develop healthy relationships and coping skills
  • Provide resources and referrals to local agencies and organizations for families
  • Formally and informally train after-school staff on behavior modification techniques
