Emergency Care for Kids Continues

The YMCA of San Diego County is opening its doors again to all those families in need of emergency care Friday, May 16, 2014 without charge from 6 am – 6 pm. With many San Diego County Schools and Districts closed because of fire and evacuation mandates and precautions, many children will need a place to go. Our Y branches located in areas not affected by fire will be available as needed until filled.

The Y provides a supervised, safe, enriching environment through non-structured, age-appropriate play activities in an atmosphere of fun and enjoyment.

  • WHEN: 6 am – 6 pm, if care is needed outside of 6 am to 6 pm or needed for younger children, call YMCA Child Care Referral line at 1-800-481-2151.

  • WHO: Children K through 6th grade

  • HOW: Parents are encouraged to bring their children to their closest Y location.
