TRAIL RUNNING CLUB

Whether your goal is to prepare for a race or just to run for exercise, our weekly group run is right for you. You’ll learn proper training techniques of running, how to avoid and prevent injuries, increase your aerobic endurance and maintain and/or lose body weight. You’ll meet other runners and run various locations around Chula Vista. Running courses will alternate between dirt canyon trails and a few roads.

Dates

  • Every Tuesday (March 15th - November 1st)

Time:

  • 6:00pm (runs are approximately 1 - 2 hours)

Meet:

In front of the entrance of the South Bay Family YMCA location. **Some runs will have an “off-site” meeting location and will run a longer distance.

Rate:

Weekly runs are FREE for YMCA members. Drop-ins are welcome. All participants must have an active adult waiver form on file before participating. (For ages 14 and up)

Attire:

Wear comfortable running shoes and light layers. Bring water and a towel.

About:

Group is designed for participants with some running experience. Participants must feel comfortable running 3-4 miles round trip to and from the YMCA. The length of runs will increase throughout the months with a goal of running a 15K. More details to follow. **If location of the run is not scheduled to meet in front of the YMCA, Child Watch is not available.
