membership policies & procedures
Identification All members and participants must use a current YMCA photo ID card at all times to access the facility or check in at the Member Services Desk.
Membership HoldsA membership hold is available at no cost for medical situations or military deployments. If you need to make your membership dormant for any reason (extended vacation, work, etc.), there is a $10 charge per month. Holds and dormant memberships have a three-month limit per calendar year. Memberships automatically reinstate after three months.
Membership Cancellations Monthly bank draft membership is designed to give members a
convenient way of paying for membership. The joiner fee and a full or pro-rated month's membership dues are paid when you start your membership. With your written authorization on the Membership Form, monthly membership dues
are then deducted automatically from a bank, checking or debit/credit card
account. In order to cancel your membership, the Y requires a minimum of 10 day notice before your regularly scheduled monthly draft date. You can notify the Y of your cancellation by stopping by the front desk counter and filling out a cancel form in person. Please contact the Membership Services desk for more information.
Lost and Found Please lock your belongings in the locker
rooms. The Member Services Desk sells and loans locks. The Y is not responsible
for lost or stolen articles on our premises or during off-site Y programs.
Wellness Center Guidelines Appropriate workout attire is
required while in the Wellness Center — no sandals or jeans. Please bring your
own workout towel. We ask that members wipe down machines after use. Lockers
are available to store bags and purses, as they may not be stored in the
Age & Safety GuidelinesChildren under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult when not involved in Y programs. Children age 6+ must utilize appropriate gender locker rooms. Teens between the ages 13-17 are required to take a Fitness Center Orientation before using the Fitness Center. Minimum age for all fitness classes, lap swim, and Fitness Center access is 13 years of age.
Camera/Cell Phone Usage For the safety, security, and
respect of others, usage of these items is limited. Check with the Member
Services Desk for further details.
AWAY Policy Y members are welcome at other Ys when
traveling outside of San Diego County. Present your membership card for reduced
fee or free day pass.
Guest Privileges For safety, all guests are required to
complete a day use waiver and show a government picture ID for entrance to the
facility. All members are encouraged to bring guests to the Y. These guests may
visit Rancho Family YMCA two times at no cost after completing a day use waiver
with picture ID card. Policies and services are subject to change without
notice to better meet the needs of Y members. All members and participants are
responsible for adhering to Y policies and procedures.

credits & refunds
Upon registration, participants assume responsibility for their attendance.
In the event that the YMCA cancels a class, a YMCA credit will be automatically issued and no request will be necessary.
The purpose of our Refund/Voucher Policy is to allow the Rancho Family YMCA to maintain quality programs and proper class ratios while maintaining flexibility with our members and participants. All requests are subject to approval. Please allow 5-7 working days.
Guidelines are as follows:
Before the program starts: 100% voucher or refund less program deposit.
After the first meeting:75% voucher or refund less program deposit if applicable.
After the second meeting:$0 refund/credit
Memberships with the exception of youth, have a 30-day, money back guarantee.
Due to vendor agreements certain trips and events may not be eligible for YMCA credits or refunds.
Vouchers never expire.
Credit Vouchers can be used in the following ways. Transfer to another YMCA program,
YMCA credit toward future use of a program or membership that may be used by any family member, or you can be refunded the amount of your voucher.

All participants must recognize the Rancho Family YMCA is dedicated to the benefit and welfare of all participants by using our core values of Caring, Respect, Responsibility, and Honesty. In order to maintain a consistent, cooperative environment, we ask that all participants at the YMCA:
- Do not use or possess alcohol or illegal chemicals on YMCA property, in YMCA vehicles, or at YMCA sponsored activities.
- Do not smoke on YMCA property.
- Do not carry or conceal a weapon or any device or object that may be used as a weapon.
- No pets are allowed on YMCA property unless they are "working dogs" to assist members while accessing facilities.
- Refrain from physical contact with another person in an angry, aggressive or threatening way.
- Do not harass or intimidate using words, gestures, body language, or any other type of menacing behaviors.
- Refrain from verbally abusive or offensive behavior, including angry or vulgar language, swearing, name-calling, or shouting.
- Do not have sexually explicit conversations or any sexual contact with another person.
- Refrain from wearing inappropriate, immodest or sexually revealing attire.
- Refrain from theft or any activity which results in destruction or loss of property.
- Do not loiter on the grounds of the YMCA.
- Do not use cell phone photography or unauthorized photography of members or participants.
Failure to observe this code may result in suspension or termination of privileges.
