Membership Information

membership policies & procedures

Identification

All members and participants must use a current YMCA photo ID card at all times to access the facility or check in at the Member Services Desk.

Membership Holds

A membership hold is available at no cost for medical situations or military deployments. If you need to make your membership dormant for any reason (extended vacation, work, etc.), there is a $10 charge per month. Holds and dormant memberships have a three-month limit per calendar year. Memberships automatically reinstate after three months.

Membership Cancellations

Monthly bank draft membership is designed to give members a convenient way of paying for membership. The joiner fee and a full or pro-rated month's membership dues are paid when you start your membership. With your written authorization on the Membership Form, monthly membership dues are then deducted automatically from a bank, checking or debit/credit card account. In order to cancel your membership, the Y requires a minimum of 10 day notice before your regularly scheduled monthly draft date. You can notify the Y of your cancellation by stopping by the front desk counter and filling out a cancel form in person. Please contact the Membership Services desk for more information.

Lost and Found

Please lock your belongings in the locker rooms. The Member Services Desk sells and loans locks. The Y is not responsible for lost or stolen articles on our premises or during off-site Y programs.

Wellness Center Guidelines

Appropriate workout attire is required while in the Wellness Center — no sandals or jeans. Please bring your own workout towel. We ask that members wipe down machines after use. Lockers are available to store bags and purses, as they may not be stored in the Wellness Center.

Age & Safety Guidelines

Children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult when not involved in Y programs. Children age 6+ must utilize appropriate gender locker rooms. Teens between the ages 13-17 are required to take a Fitness Center Orientation before using the Fitness Center. Minimum age for all fitness classes, lap swim, and Fitness Center access is 13 years of age.

Camera/Cell Phone Usage

For the safety, security, and respect of others, usage of these items is limited. Check with the Member Services Desk for further details.

AWAY Policy

Y members are welcome at other Ys when traveling outside of San Diego County. Present your membership card for reduced fee or free day pass.

Guest Privileges

For safety, all guests are required to complete a day use waiver and show a government picture ID for entrance to the facility. All members are encouraged to bring guests to the Y. These guests may visit Rancho Family YMCA two times at no cost after completing a day use waiver with picture ID card. Policies and services are subject to change without notice to better meet the needs of Y members. All members and participants are responsible for adhering to Y policies and procedures.

Please stop at the Member Service Desk for a copy of Member Guidelines.
