YMCA Active Adults maintain healthy spirits, minds & bodies through our variety of programming.

These activities are designed for Active Adults looking to stay fit while creating lasting friendships and social events that will keep you active for years to come!

The Y Active Adult group takes trips to local places of interest and special events. Our trip destinations vary from culturally and historically rich settings, to music or sporting events, to places which are just fun to visit. Below are links for upcoming trips.

    lectures and workshops

    Guest lecturers are invited to the Y to speak on a variety of health and educational topics. Workshops may include health screening or the creation of your own masterpiece of art. Come learn ways to improve your health, reduce stress, healthy cooking ideas and safe driving tips.

    • BEGINNING YOGA
      Yoga for beginners. This class utilizes props such as yoga blocks and straps for modifications.
    • CHAIR YOGA
      Yoga poses while sitting in a chair. Modifications and self-pace will be emphasized.
    • DRUMS ALIVE
      A fun & effective combo of drumming, toning & easy-to-follow foot movements. All equipment provided. Great for neurological & cognitive development, concentration & coordination.
    • FOREVER FIT I & II
      Low impact cardio, strength training, balance & stretching. Hand-held weights, resistance tubing & balls will be used. Participants will be standing but the use of a chair is an option. Class time = 45 minutes.
    • WATER FIT
      A great no-impact aerobic workout. Shallow and deep water, with noodles and water "weights" to add resistance training for muscles tone.
    • YAA LOW IMPACT AEROBICS & TONING
      For our Active Older Adults and beginners to fitness, a light cardio workout incorporating moves with toning and stretching.
    • ZUMBA GOLD
      A slower version of Zumba for our beginners and Seniors.
