Mission Valley YMCA and Toby Wells YMCA offer
a variety of personal and group training options to fit everyone's
unique fitness needs and lifestyles. We offer:
- Personal training on land
- Personal Training in the pool
- Personal Training on the GRAVITY machines
Our certified personal trainers use their knowledge of current research concepts, methods of sound exercise principles and state-of-the-art equipment to guide you to your fitness goals. Based on your health and individual needs, our personal trainers will customize and implement a program to fit your goals.
Our Personal Trainers are Qualified Our YMCA Personal Trainers have one or more of the following:
- NCCA Accredited Certification
- ACE (American Council on Exercise)
- ACSM (American College of Sports Medicine)
- NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine)
- Degree in exercise science or related field
The 55-minute-sessions are scheduled at times convenient for you. Choose from private, training-for-two and small-group training options. Personal training is offered at Mission Valley (Friars Road) and Toby Wells YMCA.

How do I get started with personal training?
Contact us! We will help to match you up with a trainer to fit your needs. In some cases, you may need a medical clearance.
How do I buy sessions?
may buy 55-minute sessions online or at the Welcome Center. Sessions are sold in
packages of 5, 10, 15 and 20. You must purchase sessions before working
with your trainer and your trainer will need a copy of the receipt.
Can I switch trainers?
Yes! WE want you to reach your goals and have the best possible experience at the Y.
Can I bring my own trainer to train me at the Y?Due to liability reasons, only trainers employed by the YMCA are allowed to train clients at the Y.
