Our 200+ Masters Swim Team offers a program that has been ranked in the top three in California at Masters Regionals every year. With top-of-the-line coaching, the Mission Valley YMCA Masters Swim Team is designed for, but not limited to, the intermediate-advanced swimmer who would like to improve on endurance and stroke technique. welcome! All practices are held in our Hazard outdoor swimming pool at the Friars Road location.
All practices are held at Bruce Hazard 10-lane outdoor swimming pool at Mission Valley (Friars Road).
Fee:To join, you must come to the membership office at either the Mission Valley or Toby Wells locations.
Member: $25 monthly/$10 drop in
Participant: $10 drop in (plus $20 facility day-use fee)

Alan Voisard has 30+ years of coaching experience, including age group, masters, inter-collegiate and professional athletes. He is well known in the swimming community as being the first person to successfully complete the "Triple Crown" of swimming within one year. The Triple Crown consists of the English Channel, Catalina Channel and Manhattan Island. Additionally, he has coached some of the top triathletes in the world, placed swimmers at the Para-Olympic Games and has a gift of making swimming easy and fun to learn. He is extremely passionate about helping people from all ability and experience levels achieve their goals in the water.
Alison Terry brings Olympic-caliber experience to her coaching. A San Diego native, Alison has set numerous San Diego/ Imperial Age Group records, National Masters record and graduated high school with 6 out of 8 CIF records and still holds one! She was past a member of the USA National team, Olympic Trial competitor and World Open Water Lifeguard Champion. Alison has taught in Zimbabwe and Turkey on behalf of the international swimming community and currently serves on the USA Swimming Board of Directors and Olympic International Operations Committee.
