As San Diegans, we're better served if we're aware and understand the world around us. Kids and adults benefit from a broader understanding of different people, languages, and cultures. At the Y, it's our mission to prepare San Diegans to be socially responsible citizens of the world.

International Teen Exchange
Brazil, July 15-28, 2012
Expose your teenager to a unique, learning experience this summer — a trip to Brazil, complete with a service learning component, sightseeing, and immersion into Brazilian culture — chaperoned and partially subsidized by the YMCA!Globalization is real, and what better way to prepare your teen than by learning more about one of the largest countries — and one of the fastest growing economies — in the world, through the trusted network and safety of the international YMCA movement?
We've partnered with the YMCA of São Paulo, Brazil to offer a 10-day, international program for teens ages 13 to 16. The program will blend fun with purpose, engaging your child through service learning projects, trips to the YMCA's Circus School and broad exposure to the seventh largest city in the world!
There are limited spots for this trip. If you're interested, send us an email and tell us a little about yourself, including contact info and names of your child(ren) who would be attending.

"I think it is important to have relationships outside the country because it helps us expand our horizons. I think doing work here or internationally is a great opportunity. I would tell those who would like to get involved to take a chance and try something new. Being exposed to a new environment can bring out the best in you."
— Antonio Mills, YMCA teen exchange program participant, South Hampton Roads, Va.,
