The YMCA Seals Swim Team is a rewarding program for children ages 6 and up of all ability levels, from the novice swimmer simply trying to make it across the pool for the first time to the elite swimmer training for Nationals. We provide a supportive and progressively challenging environment for your child.

Mini-Seals

Ages 6+
This is the developmental group of the YMCA Seals Swim Team. Swimmers are introduced to all the fundamentals of competitive swimming by our positive and encouraging coaches. Swimmers must be able to swim 25 meters of crawl stroke and 25 meters of backstroke.

Mini-Seals Novice League

Ages 6+
Mini-Seals Novice League is a 10-week, introductory competitive program designed for novice entry swimmers. Emphasis is on stroke technique, understanding competition and, most of all, fun, friends and fitness. Daily practices will help the swimmers compound the knowledge to help them improve. There will be three swim meets and a championship meet within this 10-week period. Team t-shirts are included as well as the cost of the meets.

The Swim Academy, offered at both Friars Road and Toby Wells locations is designed to guide all participants to their fullest potential as swimmers, from infant to readiness for the Mission Valley Mini Seals or Seal Swim Team. The Academy boasts small groups with low ratios using the most modern techniques and equipment in ideal warm water.
